Carlisle Fly out & Vulcan Bomber visit: Sunday 16th June
Hi Flyers

Carlisle Fly-out + Aviation Museum visit: Sunday 16th June

Carlisle airfield is approx 1 hour / 1 hour 15 minutes away from Dundee.
It also houses an aviation museum where they have a variety of aircraft including; Phantoms, Harriers, & a Vulcan bomber which
we can both visit and see inside the cockpit !!!

whats required:
Book an aircraft for the day: departing 11am from Dundee - returning around 6pm
Organise a crew
Let me know your coming along ( reply to this post on this forum )
Carlisle has a very decent Cafe where the lovely women will cook you breakfast or lunch for much cheapness. ( with a wink and a
smile thrown in for free )

So if you fancy flying to Carlisle and back on the same day, taking time to browse the aircraft museum, seeing inside the cockpit of a Vulcan bomber, and tasting the excellent cooking from the cafe - then book your place now !
It will be a fantastic sortie as long as the weather plays ball...

Hi Flyers

Order of the day for Sundays Fly-out to Carlisle:

Firstly, check the online weather for Carlisle and Dundee & make a decision as to whether the trip is 'do able' ?

If its 'good to go' then be at the club early, & complete all the booking out paperwork / weight and balance / fuel calculations etc.

Lets make a speedy departure as close to 11.15am ( Local ) as possible.

Once at Carlisle we can go for lunch at the cafe beneath the Tower.
Then see around the Raf museum (£4.50 admission)
Then onto the Vulcan bomber - this is pretty awesome in every way & never fails to amaze, so remember and bring your camera !

The Museum closes at 5pm - we can then pay the landing fee ( roughly £21 ) and head back to Dundee.

If anyone has any questions or comments regarding this fly-out , then please post on this forum for everyone to see.....

Fingers crossed for blue skies & happy landings !

Tally Ho... !
Thanks to all who came along on this sortie.

The weather was very favourable & everyone said they enjoyed the flights, lunch & museum visit.

Highlight of the day was the Vulcan bomber tour of the cockpit, bomb aiming station, navigators den .....
Awesome in every way !
Tally Ho... !
