Your Support required for Longside Airfield
Dear all,

You may or may not be aware, but developers have applied for planning permission to create and develop a pipe storage yard at the end of our active runway, on the extended centerline of runway 28. Worst still, they haven't waited for a decision to be made, they've just gone ahead and built it. Naturally, as aviators, we are strongly against having a pipe yard sited at the end of the runway !

There was a council meeting recently where councillors deferred making a decision to approve or reject the application in favour of a SITE VISIT, after which they will vote, at another meeting.

If possible, we would like Longside Airfield to be as busy as possible on Tuesday 1st April 2014 with visiting Aircraft !
The site visit starts at 09:30, so a busy circuit between then and about 10:30 or so would help reinforce our case.
A few practice EFATO 's over the pipe yard maybe......?

Naturally there will be no landing fees at Longside on that day for anyone who is able to participate, and tea and biccies available.

Davy Jones, our AFISO, (mob: 07792166434) will be on the radio on the day (130.575), there is live weather and a webcam on

Hope you can make it !!

Kind regards

Bruce Tibenham
